SANTA FE OVERVIEW

Santa Fe, the state capital of New Mexico, observes its 400th anniversary in 2009 and there is much to celebrate. A varied history shows itself in lasting signs of the country's frontier days, as well as Spanish churches and Native American artifacts dating back much further than the city's official four centuries. While Santa Fe takes pride in honoring its past, the city is also in-tune with the present and future, which is seen in cultural, spiritual and leisure activities available, as well as in Santa Fe luxury homes.

Visitors to today's Santa Fe can hike in the scenic Sangre de Cristo Mountains, raft on the Rio Grande, golf numerous courses and visit the bustling Plaza, in addition to learning about the city's past at a variety of museums and historic sites. A place that demonstrates the commitment to both past and future is the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, named for the famed artist who lived in the area. The museum has a collection of over 1,000 of O'Keeffe's influential works and also includes a research center that sponsors studies in several artistic fields.

Many contemporary artists live and work in the Santa Fe area, surely inspired by the breathtaking Southwestern surrounds. The city has a large, popular and well respected art market, drawing collectors from around the country and internationally to explore the many galleries on Canyon Road.

The convergence of history, artistry and landscape, along with the abundant pueblo style architecture, gives Santa Fe an almost mystical quality that can rejuvenate mind and body. A selection of spas in and near the city add to the charm and contribute to Santa Fe's calming characteristics.

At the center of this mystique are equally fantastic and serene Santa Fe luxury homes. Sprawling estates on expansive acreages allow for enjoyment of the unparalleled environment. Luxury properties with the finest finishes and most modern amenities still show respect for their surroundings by blending into the cliffs or incorporating incredible views into the design. In a city filled with tranquility and magnificence, Santa Fe luxury properties provide even more of both.
