Though, with a population of 365,000, Arlington is only the seventh largest city in the state of Texas, its location between Dallas and Fort Worth makes it an integral part of one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States. With this has come a central role in several industries, including aerospace. Arlington is perhaps best known, however, as a focal point for public entertainment in not only Texas, but also the entire American South Central region, as several high-profile professional sports teams and major theme parks are located within its limits. Along with the University of Texas at Arlington, their presence has created a community that is both economically diverse and home to a number of upscale restaurants, boutiques, and estates, many of which are modeled along Ranch and Craftsman lines. Given that, along with the rest of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, Arlington is only projected to grow as a business and entertainment center over the next few years, this modestly sized city is a wise investment.
